The Barbeaux Amplifcation Lil' Sis Desktop Head is a tastefully tweaked 5F2-A Tweed Princeton.  It sounds fantastic and offers a wide range of tonal options from clean to cranked gains.  The front control knobs are simple volume on the left and tone on the right.

There are also two modifications that allow for deviations from the original 5F2-A to maximize versatility and compatibility with different pickups - 3-way switchable "fat" switch (gradually boosts mids/gain) on the front panel and On/Off global negative feedback switch on the rear next to the speaker output jack.

This is a small amp "head" occupying a roughly 7.5" x 7.5" footprint (+ ~2" for handle) is built in a Hammond Diecast Aluminum chassis - CNC cut in-house for perfect fit and finish.  Component lists as follows:

  • AES Power & Output Transformer (8 Ω Output)
  • In-House CNC Cut Heavy Duty 2mm Turret Boards
  • High Quality Nickel Plated Copper Turrets
  • JJ 12AX7 Pre-amp Tube
  • JJ 6V6S Output Tube
  • Fused IEC Socket (5 x 20 mm 1A Slo Blo)
  • Belton Tube Sockets
  • CTS Custom Taper Potentiometers
  • Switchcraft Jacks
  • Carling Switches
  • MOD Power Supply Capacitor Kits
  • Mallory 150 Coupling Caps
  • Weico 22 AWG Tinned Stranded Wire

Comes complete with compatible IEC power cable.

Warranty: Each Barbeaux Amplifier comes with a 2-Year Warranty (Parts & Labor Only) from date of delivery against any manufacturer defects - excluding tubes.

Music Gear's Best-Kept Secret...

...is what I tell my friends when describing the Lil Sis amp. It's US-made but even better -- it appears to be Old School US-made: the user can truly feel and hear its quality and attention to details. After successfully playing it at a few small gigs, I now actually feel that I should have purchased the Tweed Deluxe board to access a bit more power for when I play larger venues. But maybe soon one day, I'll own both. (:

Lil Sis is simply the perfect rehearsal amp

I've had Barbeaux's updated 5F2A head for about 2 weeks now.

Its quickly become my primary rehearsal amp able to cut thru and generate a smile. All my band mates are asking what is that and commenting on how it just cranks out rhythms & solos.

Rehearsal cabinets are a 1x10 Cannabis Rex or a 1x8 Warehouse.

I'm taking the Lil Sis along to a 4th of July gig next weekend to see how it works out thru a 1x12 Theile.

Couldn't be happier.
